Had to throw it back to the song that kickstarted a shift for me musically. "Vibe In A Circle" by 3TARDS had already been bubbling around Orlando. I reached out to the group's producer ThatDevastator about dropping a verse for a remix to introduce it to the younger UCF crowd as I was only a sophomore. You can hear Lauderdale all across that verse. One time for the crib! I hope this songs makes you jook, whether reminiscing or first time hearing. Enjoy!
When I say this is a throooowbyk, lordt. Back in 2012 I introduced Tropicana Tuesdays, an 8-week series where a new track (free juice) was dropped every Tuesday. The series was hosted by UCF CEO, the voice of the time. Week 3 was the fan favorite of the time and it features my brother Johnny Oz. This shxt slaps I don't care. Enjoy!
I wrote this song in 11th grade almost 10 years ago thinking critically about what I wanted to be when I "grew up". At that point, I had already found a love in my craft and knew that I wanted to do it for the rest of my life. The 9-5 life just didn't work well with my aspirations, so growing down was my only option. I still share the same sentiment gvng. Enjoy!
One of the hardest things to do once you grow out of childhood is to believe that you can actually do anything you put your mind to. Conquer that.
Here's a throwbyk from just last year at the first ever "Drop The Mic" event by UCF's Campus Activities Board and Project S.P.I.T. when I decided to try out a new spoken word piece rather than perform a song. Tell me how you really feel! #GVNG
It had been awhile since I had last recorded and had way too much to get off my chest. This was around the beginnings of working alongside my bruzzo 90-Nine (OG UCF Beta). I would have to say, we murdered this one. #TeamPayne
Since we're in the 2012 mood for this week's Throwbyk Thursday, here's my first video blog of the era capturing the night, starting at my college apartment and ending at a house party performance of the throwbyk song featured earlier, "Tonight." Follow me for the night!
For this week's edition of Throwbyk Thursday, we take you back to 2011 B.Payne. This song, following the success of his Vibe In A Circle (B-Mix) featuring 3TARDS, was in heavy rotation between 2011 and 2012 in nightclubs all over Florida. The chorus vocals are provided by worldwide DJ/Producer That Devastator, and the mixing was done by Cash Money Records' London On Da Track. The song presents a "let's forget it all and have a great night" vibe from the POV of a 19-year old college kid from the jook capital, South Florida. Enjoy!
